Insha’Allah, The Public Qur’an Campaign will host a Ramadan 2022 Iftar dinner and talk at the British Muslim Heritage Centre, on Friday 8th April.
Our keynote speaker is the Chair of our Trustees, Professor Muhammad Abdel Haleem OBE, known worldwide for his best-selling translation of the Qur’an published by Oxford University Press.
Director Lamaan Ball will then present our past and current work to place the Qur’an and its message in public spaces.
From 6pm insha‘Allah, Professor Abdel Haleem will be available to sign copies of his paperback Qur’an translation which can be obtained at the event for a £10 minimum donation to the Public Qur’an Campaign (first come first served basis).
Also, official mosque representatives will be able to order copies of the Qur’an free of charge to place in their mosque for public use.
Food will insha’ Allah be provided by Hadramout Yemeni Restaurant (lamb or chicken).

Over the first ten days of Ramadan 2021, our new series My Chosen Verse – where personalities present a verse or verses that have a particular meaning to them – was opened by broadcaster Lauren Booth who chose three verses that had a great impact on her, about the Signs of Allah in His Creation, followed by community worker former President of Islamic Society of North America, Dr Altaf Husain, about caring for others for the sake of Allah. He was followed by Leila Aboulela, the internationally acclaimed author, who spoke about love and relationships in Islam; journalist and author Yvonne Ridley, spoke about the compatibility of democracy with Islamic principles; renowned author Ahmad Thomson emphasised the Subtle, Gentle nature of Allah through His Name Al-Lateef; and Harfiyah Haleem co-director of IFEES/EcoIslam, on how Allah tells us to respond to evil with something better.
Please go to our YouTube channel (Playlist: My Chosen Verse) to see the 20+ contributions, above are only but a selection of the first few ones.
Lauren Booth is the first guest in PQC’s Ramadan series titled My Chosen Verse. Struggling to choose between the great number of verses that impacted her over the years, Lauren settled for three and explains to us why, in her usual moving style that will touch many people’s hearts insha Allah.
